Crap venue. Great acts. But almost ALL the people coming to play or have played just talked and talked and talked loudly DURING the performances????
I went here a couple of months ago and was really surprised at the quality of artists. although the venue is small, it is good. There is intimacy, and a bit of elbow barging but it's all good. acoustically sound and the girl that runs it has a character trait. she knits. The girl behind the jump was friendly. all in all a very good sunday afternoon openmic.
Hey Jonathan, if you click the website link (just above where it says Forthcoming Gigs), you will be taken directly to the Green Note website where you will see FULL listings for all their music shows, wednesday through sunday every week.
This is a lovely venue, but what happened? There used to be music on here every night.
Only been the once so far, in December, to an absolutely tremendous 'Blues Jam' night. Music couldn't be bettered, service and food choice excellent. Good menus, cooked well BUT a little cold when it got to the table. Apart from that - brilliant enough to give them a second chance.
The Green Note Café has the feeling of a place that will be remembered. Situated in the spiritual home of London music, it offers something different to the grimey mosh-pits of most Camden venues by combining a stylish, comfortable backdrop with fantastic live music, friendly service and excellent food. The artwork on the walls lets you know whose footsteps you tread in as you enter this gem of a venue and give you a clue as to the music to expect. Although Neil Young, Joni Mitchell and Bob Dylan may never have dined in person, they are there in spirit and stare out from their pictures in quiet appreciation of the intimate surroundings.
